The unfolding drama in the Nwoko household escalated on Monday after politician and businessman Prince Ned Nwoko issued a firm public statement countering claims that he married actress Regina Daniels when she was 17.

Nwoko described the circulating allegation as “false, misleading, and deliberately crafted to damage my name.”

According to him, during his first meeting with Regina, he directly asked her age, and she reportedly told him she was 21 years old. He said he requested documentary verification, and she presented a voter’s card showing a date of birth of October 10, 1998.

The card, visibly bearing that date, lists occupation as student and registration details from Delta State. Nwoko says he kept the document from that day, using it as the official proof of age.

He added that their marriage took place six years ago, which aligns with her being 27 years old today, not 17.

Calling for public caution, Nwoko stated, “Any suggestion that I married her at 17 is false. The facts are verifiable and indisputable.”

He also urged Nigerians to critically evaluate Regina’s recent statements, alleging that her “current mental condition” and “abandoned rehabilitation from illegal drug addiction” have fueled the misinformation now circulating online.
